Showing Affection

Showing affection between Moonbeyms are done in multiple ways - hugging (usually between, friends, family, and lovers), palm-to-palm (an intimate gesture to show loyalty and trust, also can be viewed as romantic), forehead crest-to-forehead crest (very intimate).

Courting

Buying gifts is fine for the beginning of the courtship but to show real affection it is expected for the intimate parties to exchange a created gift to show their seriousness. A created gift is a sign of willingness to put effort into a relationship because they are worth it.

For a proposal, the Moonbeym makes a necklace made of flowers and other items they find pretty and gift it to the Moonbeym. The Moonbeym shows they accept the proposal by wearing the necklace.

Wedding

A wedding happens between the two marrying and the officiate only. It usually happens under moonlight and in front of a moonstone if possible. Weddings never happen on moonless nights.

The next day a party happens which can often be an all day event which includes all family and friends. In small villages or towns, it is the normal practice to invite the entire community.

Breeding

Breeding happens between two adult Moonbeyms and allows for the birth of a new Moonbeym egg. It is not unusual for Moonbeyms to have children when unmarried.

Moonbeyms tend to have a high population of orphans. This is due to the bonding between parents. When a child is born, there is a bonding period, where a child and parent develop a connection. For reasons not completed understood, bondings don't always take and the parent will lose interest in the child or even find themselves repelled by the child. These children are sent to the orphanage to grow up there and in some cases adopted out to other parents. It is a sad but normal aspect of the Moonbeym life.

Participating in a Breeding

Each account is allowed one free breeding then afterwards all other breedings will need a breeding stone from the cash shop. Breedings must happen between a biological male and female.

But wait! There is a special thing called a Moon Blessing. Moon Blessings is when the Moon Child blesses a same-sex couple with an egg that is biologically theirs. Moon Blessings are very rare and therefore Blessing Stones must be bought through the cash shop.

Pet breedings are also allowed but require a pet breeding ticket from the cash shop

A journal will be posted when breedings are open and will have more detailed instructions.
