How to Earn Beym Points
Earning Beym Points is all about doing art and writing. This means being creative helps you and your Moonbeym to evolve. Let's get into how it works.
What doesn't count:
-Anything less than a bust shot.
-Anything so small it's hard to make out.
-Anything less than 250 words when submitting writing.
Sketches/Line Art
1 Beym
Your Sketches or Line Art have to be at least a bust to count. Sketches need to be easy to see. Hard to visualize scribbles will not count.

Colored Pictures
2 Beym
A colored image is an image that has at least three colors in it. There are no shading requirements. As long as it is colored with at least three colors then it counts.

Polished Pictures
5 Beym
A polished picture has to have a background (background cannot be just repeating tiles or a gradient/color, but must depict a setting), shading, and show genuine effort. It doesn't have to be perfect or extremely skilled, but it does have to show effort was made.

Additional Characters
+1 Beym / per character up to 8
In one image or sketch page you are allowed to count up to 8 characters for 1 Beym each. This includes pets. So that means you can make at most 8 Beyms for characters in a picture.
Comics
+2 Beym Comic bonus
For comics, it must have at least 3 panels to count that tell a story in some way. You would count it the same way you count any other image, but you get an additional comic bonus. Copy and paste doesn't count and remember, it has to be at least a bust shot to count for Beyms. So a close up of an eye wouldn't count nor would a floating head.

Animations
Animations are a complicated business so to make it easier on our mods we have a particular system. How it works is:
Is it Sketch/Line, Colored, Polished? 1/2/4 Beym
How many characters appear? Up to 8 Beymn
Animation bonus : +2 Beym
Additional Bonus: Optional
Additional Bonuses are mostly given out by staff for truly amazing animations and vary. You can only get one additional bonus per animation and staff will comment on the deviant. This is why Animation pieces should always go in the animation folder. Animations not submitted to the animations folder will not get the animation bonus. If your animation needs to be put in an additional folder just let staff know.
Written Pieces
+1 Beym for every 250 words.
This can be a short story, chapters of a novel, or an RP log. Do not post RP logs without getting permission from all people involved. For prompts or trait upgrades, to count as finishing the prompt you must at least have 250 words, unless the prompt requires more.

You must have written at least 250 per participant to get points for an RP log. RP logs are consider collaborations so you get full points for them. When posting an RP log, please divide up who is saying what.

Example:

Racer: The blue Moonbeym races down the road. His chubby legs moving as fast as he can. Faster, faster until his running comes to an abrupt stop as he trips over a pink lump in the road and goes rolling through the dirt. He lets out a sharp squawk.

Yogurt: The pink lump unrolls from her position on the road and looks over at Racer. "Shh, you're too loud. I'm trying to hide." Yogurt curls back up and continues pretending to be a pink rock in the road.
Collaborations
Collaborating together is a wonderful thing and we fully support it. When collaborating each person gets full points so you don't have to worry about dividing it up. Only one person should submit the collaboration to the group, but it should list what each person has done so it is clear it is a collaboration. Make sure to add collaborations to your trackers.
Gift Art
+2 Beym
Gift art is making art for someone without trading or commissioning. You just decided to gift them some art. When gifting someone art, check the masterlist. It will note whether gift art is welcomed. Gift art should not include your character otherwise it doesn't count as a gift. You must choose which character to apply the beym points to.
Crafts
+2 Beym
Crafts can be plushies, carvings, Moonbeym shaped cookies, and most physical objects. The only thing that the craft must do is actually have a Moonbeym on it in some way that is at least bust size.
Encounter / Arena Drawings
+2 Beym
Whether a sketch, colored, or polished painting. If you draw an image of an arena fight or an encounter, you get a bonus +2 Beym. These pictures are required to be more dynamic and actually show a scene from an actual encounter or arena battle.
Commissions
+0 Beym
Commissions do not earn Beyms and are not considered gift art. If you are paying someone or trading someone for art then it cannot be counted toward Beyms. Anyone trying to circumvent this rule will get a warning and their Beym docked. Multiple offenses will lead to banning.
Why not commissions? Because part of the game is developing your art, writing, and crafting skills, we do not count commissions or trades.
Trackers
Now that you know how to add up your points, it is up to you to keep track of them. Beyms never decrease, just add, and continue adding. So when you get a trait with Beyms you are not buying it, simply unlocking it.

When you post an image to count Beyms just put:

Earned: # Beyms
Total: # current Beyms to # of New total Beyms

Example:

Earned: 2 Beyms
Total: 0 to 2 Beyms
Remember that Beyms are per Moonbeym, so they each need their own tracker. When you have a picture with multiple Moonbeyms, the Beym points are split evenly between them. Please make sure you track that on your tracker.
If you delete your tracker or the images that go with it, you lose the Beyms and will have to start over. So make sure you keep copies just in case.

When you earn 1000 Beyms, you have reached the max Beyms for that character and you no longer have to count Beyms. When that happens, make sure you get the count confirmed. After it is confirmed you can put Max Beyms on your entries to show that you no longer need to count Beyms. Remember, Beyms are per character. If you get a new character, the max Beyms on another character don't count towards the new one.
Trackers can be posted on DA, stash, google docs, or wix. If there is a different place you want to host it please check with staff. We sometimes have to look at trackers and we don't want to go to sites we're unfamiliar with.
