Explorations
Explorations are the ability to go out and see the world and find resources. While on an exploration you can find items, plants, minerals, and even Secrets. If you are truly lucky, you might even discover a new location or a new animal. Explorations are one of the main ways to get resources for crafting.
What's a Secret? Secrets are clues that lead to something hidden away and they can often lead to something grander...and more dangerous. When you receive a Secret just go to the Adventurer's Guild to discover what happens next.
How do you do an Exploration?
You are allowed 2 main explorations, and 2 secondaries a month. This is per player, not per Moonbeym. Further down is a list of areas you can explore. When you explore an area you must draw a polished picture of your Moonbeym exploring the area. Submit this to the Exploration folder on deviantart. Your Moonbeym is rolled for encounters, resources, treasures, and any secrets/discoveries it might find. What you bring back is dependant on the area and rolling factors.

Weight Limits
When doing an Exploration you are limited to bringing 3 items. This items can come in handy depending on what you encounter on your exploration. There are also shop items that can increase your item limit or give you an exploration bonuses.
Write in a comment what items you are bringing. Once the exploration is in processing, you cannot change what you have brought with you.
What is Main and Secondary Exploration?
A main is an exploration submitted by you that lists one of your Moonbeyms as the main explorer. To have your Moonbeym be the main explorer the submission must be drawn or written by you. The Main is guaranteed to bring back at least 2 or more items back during an exploration.
Secondary exploration is if you are listed as a secondary explorer in the submission. A secondary explorer isn't just being drawn in the picture but must be listed as an actual explorer. The reason for this is so players can include other Moonbeyms in their images without having those Moonbeyms use up their explorations or have to get involved in an encounter. Secondaries are guaranteed to bring back 1 item.
You must get permission from a player to use them in an exploration. Secondaries must comment with confirm when the submission is submitted. You cannot back out of a confirm once it is in processing by staff.
Does this mean I can only draw three Moonbeyms for an Exploration?
Not at all! You can draw however many you like but only the Main and the two seconds will count for rolls and injuries.
Who can do an exploration?
Adults only. Teens and babies are never allowed on these.
Encounters
There is always a possibility of an encounter during explorations. Encounters are meeting with animals/monsters/or something else. When an encounter happens, you will get a message from staff, responding to your submission on what you encountered. At this time you have the chance to fight, flee, or tame it. The Main explorer decides which one to do but feel free to discuss it with the other explorers. Just remember that this is the Main explorer's exploration so they get final say.
When involved in an encounter, there is a chance of injury. Injuries prevent you from doing certain things and require healing before you can go forward. That means if you submit 2 explorations and get injured in one, depending how badly injured you are, you would have to get healed up before you can do the second exploration.
All Moonbeym explorers have the possibility of injury.
Look at How Combat Works for more information about Encounters and Injuries.
Caravans
What if you're just not cut out for combat? Or maybe you want to enter an area a little too rough for you. Perhaps you're a crafter that needs resources. Well you're in luck! You can hire a caravan. Caravans are fitted with fighters from the Adventurer's Guild who will help you with any encounters you meet up with.
To do a Caravan, go to the Adventure's Guild and hire some guards. To do this you put up a request and mention it is a caravan. Adventure Guild members will respond. Once you accept, then submit your exploration like you usually would, just make sure you list it as a caravan and yourself as the main explorer. If an encounter happens, the guards will fight and not you.
You also have the option of hiring NPC guards to travel with you, but there are roll deductions for using NPCs instead of players.
