
Magic Lessons
Magic is both wonderful and dangerous so learning to use your magic can be complicated. Learning magic puts a strain on your body, so learning it does effect your ability to learn and use combat skills. So make sure you really want to learn it before you jump in. There are also bonuses to being a strictly combat user or a strictly magic user.
Professional Lessons
This involves taking a class with an instructor. The class lasts a month and only allows you to learn one magic skill during that month. You must complete the weekly prompts. If you miss a lesson, you flunk the class and have to start over. There are no refunds. There is a month cooldown before you can learn another magic. Cooldown begins the day your magic is approved.
To enter a training class you must purchase a ticket from the cash shop. We also do a raffle to obtain free spots. You are allowed to have multiple Moonbeyms in the same training class but they each must have a ticket.
Once completed, you will receive a license. Certain Adventurer's Guild jobs can only be taken by someone with a license and certain areas can only be entered by licensed professionals.
Independent Lessons
Do you prefer a more leisurely pace and best of all no charge? Then independent lessons is where it's at. Independent requires two polished pictures for every skilled learn. Once completed you have a two month cool down before you can learn another magic skill. Like with Professional Lessons, you can only learn one skill at a time.
Independents do not get licenses and so cannot enter places that require a license or take jobs that require one. If you are an independent who wishes to gain a license later, you can get it through purchasing a ticket to the magic knowledge test.
What is Magic Used For?
Magic is used for RP, combat, and plot. So remember, having magic isn't just for combat. If in a plot situation when a character is freezing, a fire mage could use Warmth to stay warm. Just keep in mind that magic isn't just tied to the combat system. Be creative with it.
